I’m a southern girl living in Los Angeles with my husband, son, and three cats, and I’m passionate about sharing how simple it can be to live and eat healthfully, even in a city as complicated as L.A.
The primal lifestyle isn’t just for tomboys. We girly-girls can lift heavy, man a grill, and hike a rugged trail with the best of ‘em. All without chipping a nail.

Glad to find your blog. I’ve been reading more about the primal lifestyle. I’ve done some of this for years on and off but have never read many details about the specific way of life. What do you recommend as the best way to start? Books to read? I like your blog from a girly perspective!
I was the same way! I gave up bread/sugar a couple of different times, but was never able to stick with it because I was also trying to eat super low fat!
Mark Sisson’s book The Primal Blueprint & his website Marks Daily Apple (I’d link it here, but I’m on my phone! Check my “links” page) are essential reading, in my opinion. Check them out. There are also links to some recipe sites I like.
Thanks for reading!!
I am so glad to find you! I am a fellow Southern Californian that just went Primal! I will be anticipating your blog entries!
That’s awesome! Maybe you’ll notice a So Cal reference here once in a while.
Thanks for reading!
Hi! I’m on the other side of the country, but I’m a fellow MDA fan. I’ve just recently discovered the Primal lifestyle. It makes so much sense, and I feel better than I ever have before! I just started a photo blog of my meals…literally. I have one picture posted so far! I’m glad to find your blog!
Hey Sarah! Thanks for reading.
I’ll have to check out your meal blog; That’s one of the things I love about this lifestyle ~ everyone becomes so passionate about it that they just have to share! That’s definitely what happened with me. It’s a great community, especially over at MDA.
